Daylily "Stella de Oro"

Return to Plants and Shrubs page.

 Latin name: Hemerocallis

The scientific name, Hemerocallis, is from two Greek words: "beauty" and "day," each flower lasts only one day. To make up for this, there are many flower buds on each daylily flower stalk, so the flowering period of a clump is usually several weeks long.
